The obstacle they can't do yet is the whole point.
Coach-led ninja classes where kids learn how to climb, swing, balance, move and solve obstacles — one skill at a time.

MOVE · SOLVE · GROWNot every kid wants a ball, a scoreboard or a starting position.
Ninja gives kids something physical to work toward without asking everybody in the room to be good at the same thing.
One athlete may be learning to swing. Another is trying to connect two obstacles. Another is working up the courage to leave the platform.
They're training together without all needing the same win. Ninja can be its own sport — or a great complement to everything else a kid already loves.

Try a real ninja class. On us.
Meet a coach. Learn how a class actually works. Watch your kid attempt something new. Then decide whether weekly ninja makes sense for your family.
More than “go try that obstacle.”
Current youth classes combine approximately 50 minutes of coach-led instruction with 10 minutes of open practice.
01Get moving.
Warm-up and movement that gets the body ready to learn.
02See the skill.
The coach demonstrates, explains the goal and gives the group something useful to notice.
03Break it down.
Progressions turn one big challenge into smaller pieces an athlete can work on.
04Put it together.
Apply the skill on real obstacles, repeat attempts and use feedback.
05Try it your way.
Open practice gives athletes room to experiment with what they learned.
THIS IS COACHINGTry something different.
A useful coach helps an athlete understand what to change — not simply whether they made it.
Where are you?
Hands, feet, hips and the shape of the movement matter.
When do you move?
Release, swing, jump and land at the moment the skill needs.
Can it take less effort?
Technique can replace muscling through every obstacle.
What changes next?
A miss becomes information for the next attempt.

class membership
Four coached classes plus unlimited Open Gym.

Practice makes it yours.
The extra attempts between classes are where a new cue can start turning into a movement an athlete actually understands.
Perfect. That's why it's a class.
They do not need grip strength before arriving. They do not need to know how to swing. They do not need to be fearless.
And they definitely do not need to know what a lache is.
A coach can demonstrate the movement, change the progression and help the athlete build from the version that makes sense today.

It's not just “Did they get the obstacle?”
Completing something difficult is exciting. Good training gives us more ways to notice improvement.
Landings get quieter.
Movement becomes more deliberate and easier to stop.
Swings get less frantic.
The athlete starts using the rhythm instead of fighting it.
Strength gets smarter.
Better positions can accomplish more with less wasted effort.
They attempt more thoughtfully.
A new challenge can become something to investigate instead of avoid.
A miss becomes useful.
“I failed” starts turning into “I know what I want to change.”
The next level makes sense.
Progress comes when movement, understanding and control are ready.
Class should look like something happening.
Watch. Learn. Attempt. Adjust. Then go again with a better idea.

We want kids getting better at ninja — and understanding more about how they move along the way.

What youth ninja classes does Octo Ninja offer?+
Octo Ninja offers coached youth ninja classes for kids ages 5–12 at our North Austin obstacle gym. Our current class pathway includes Octo Move plus Ninja 1, Ninja 2 and Ninja 3. Placement can depend on age, experience, readiness and current availability.
What is Octo Move?+
Octo Move is our coached introductory youth class, designed to help newer athletes build comfort with the gym, movement fundamentals and foundational obstacle skills. Octo's youth class pathway also includes Ninja 1, Ninja 2 and Ninja 3. Monthly class enrollment includes unlimited Open Gym as a separate benefit.
Does my child need ninja experience to join a class?+
No. Beginners are welcome. Kids do not need to know how to climb, swing or complete ninja obstacles before their first class. Learning those skills through appropriate progressions is the point.
Which class should my child start with?+
Most first-time athletes should begin in an introductory class that fits their age and readiness, such as Octo Move or Ninja 1. The Octo Ninja team can help guide placement based on the athlete and current availability.
Can my child try a ninja class before enrolling?+
Yes. First-time families can currently try an eligible first class free, subject to class availability. This lets your child meet the coach, experience the class structure and see whether ninja clicks before monthly enrollment.
What happens during a kids ninja class?+
Current youth classes use approximately 50 minutes of coach-led instruction followed by about 10 minutes of open practice. Classes can include movement games, demonstrations, skill stations, obstacle progressions, repeated attempts and time to apply what the athlete learned.
What is the difference between Octo Move, Ninja 1, Ninja 2 and Ninja 3?+
The names represent a progression from introductory and foundational training toward more advanced obstacle work. Octo Move is the coached introductory youth class. Ninja 1 builds foundations, Ninja 2 develops greater control and connected skills, and Ninja 3 is intended for more advanced technique and challenge. Exact placement is coach-guided rather than based on one obstacle.
How do kids move up a class level?+
Coaches look at more than whether an athlete completed one obstacle. Movement quality, technique, body control, consistency, understanding, readiness and how well the athlete can apply skills all matter. Kids can progress at different speeds.
What skills can kids build through ninja classes?+
Ninja classes can develop grip strength, balance, coordination, agility, climbing, swinging, landing, body awareness, obstacle technique and physical problem-solving.
Is ninja a good activity for kids who do not love team sports?+
It can be. Ninja lets kids work toward individual physical goals while still learning alongside a group. They can make visible progress without needing to score goals, earn a starting position or develop at exactly the same pace as everyone else.
How much are Octo Ninja youth classes?+
Current monthly youth class enrollment is $140 per participant. The current class membership includes four coached classes per month plus unlimited Open Gym access, subject to regular Open Gym schedule and participation policies.
Is unlimited Open Gym included with monthly class enrollment?+
Yes. Kids enrolled in the current monthly youth class program receive unlimited Open Gym access in addition to their coached classes. The standalone $60/month unlimited Open Gym option is called the Octo Play Membership.
Can I still book a drop-in ninja class?+
A $35 drop-in class option is currently listed for families who need a flexible one-off class. Availability is subject to confirmation and space. For a first-time family, the free first-class offer is usually the better place to begin when an eligible class is available.
Do youth classes require a long-term contract?+
Octo Ninja youth classes are structured as ongoing monthly enrollment. Current billing, cancellation and enrollment terms are provided in the applicable class or membership agreement.
What happens if my child misses a class?+
Enrolled athletes may currently report an absence and use an eligible make-up opportunity in another available class. Make-ups are subject to space and current Octo Ninja policies.
When are kids ninja classes offered?+
Youth classes are offered throughout the week, with exact days and times varying by age, level and current enrollment. The online class schedule is the best place to see current availability.
What should my child wear to ninja class?+
Kids should wear comfortable athletic clothing and clean athletic shoes with good traction. Avoid sandals, flip-flops, Crocs and other loose or slippery footwear. A refillable water bottle is also a good idea.
Where are Octo Ninja youth classes located?+
Octo Ninja youth classes take place at our 15,000-square-foot indoor obstacle gym at 6500 N Lamar Blvd, Suite A, Austin, TX 78752 in North Central Austin.
