Drop-in classes and monthly enrollment programs for kids ages 5–12. Build strength, confidence, and real ninja skills at 6500 N Lamar Blvd, Austin TX.
Octo Ninja classes are the best kids fitness program in Austin built around the sport of ninja, the same discipline now featured in international Olympic competition.
Kids ages 5–12 build real grip strength, balance, agility, and mental toughness through coached obstacle training. Unlike recreational sports, every child progresses at their own pace, every class is different, and every kid leaves feeling like they actually accomplished something.
That's why 600+ Austin families have given us five stars and why kids ask to come back.

From a first class to weekly training, here are the answers Austin parents ask most about choosing a class, getting started, pricing, progress and what to expect at Octo Ninja.
What ninja classes does Octo Ninja offer for kids?
Octo Ninja offers beginner through advanced ninja classes for children and teens at our North Austin obstacle gym.
Class options include age-appropriate introductory programs such as Little Ninjas and Octo Play, progressive Octo Ninja classes for developing athletes, and training options for older and more experienced ninjas.
The goal is to give each child an appropriate place to start and room to keep progressing as their skills grow.
Does my child need ninja experience to join a class?
No experience is required. Beginners are welcome.
Introductory classes teach foundational skills such as balance, swinging, climbing, body control, obstacle movement and how to approach challenges safely.
Kids are not expected to arrive already knowing how to complete the obstacles. Learning how to do them is the point.
Which ninja class should my child start with?
Most first-time ninjas should begin in an introductory class appropriate for their age rather than worrying about choosing the perfect skill level themselves.
Programs such as Octo Play and introductory Octo Ninja classes are designed to build the fundamentals first. As your child develops strength, technique and confidence, coaches can help guide them toward the next appropriate challenge.
What does a kids ninja class actually look like?
Ninja classes combine coaching, movement games, skill stations and obstacle practice instead of having kids simply run through the gym on their own.
Depending on the class, athletes may work on balance, grip, climbing, swinging, agility, obstacle flow, body awareness and problem-solving.
Obstacles and challenges can change, which keeps training fresh while allowing coaches to build skills progressively over time.
What is the difference between a drop-in class and monthly enrollment?
Drop-in classes are the flexible option. Your child can attend a coached ninja class without committing to the same weekly time.
Monthly enrollment is designed for consistent progress. Your child attends a regular weekly class with a consistent coach, group and training progression.
Drop-in is a great way to try ninja or work around a changing schedule. Enrollment is the better fit for kids who want to train regularly and keep building skills week after week.
How much do kids ninja classes cost at Octo Ninja?
Drop-in ninja classes are currently $35 per class.
Ongoing Octo Ninja class enrollment is currently $140 per month, per participant and includes a recurring weekly class.
Current pricing, class availability and any introductory offers can be confirmed through the online class schedule before enrolling.
Is Open Gym included with monthly ninja classes?
Yes. Kids enrolled in the current monthly Octo Ninja class program receive unlimited Open Gym access in addition to their weekly class.
That gives athletes a chance to practice skills, experiment with obstacles and simply play between coached sessions.
Open Gym availability follows the current Octo Ninja schedule and regular participation policies.
Do I have to sign a long-term contract for ninja classes?
Octo Ninja classes are structured as ongoing monthly enrollment rather than requiring families to repeatedly start over in short class sessions.
Current billing, cancellation and enrollment terms are outlined in the Octo Ninja membership or class agreement. Review those terms when enrolling or contact our team if you have questions before registering.
How do kids progress through Octo Ninja classes?
Ninja progression is about more than completing one difficult obstacle.
Coaches look at movement quality, technique, body control, strength, consistency, obstacle understanding and how confidently an athlete can apply those skills. Want to know what our coaches are actually looking for? See How We Coach →
Kids can progress at different speeds. The goal is to keep each athlete appropriately challenged rather than expecting every child in a class to develop at exactly the same pace.
What skills can kids build through ninja training?
Ninja training challenges a combination of grip strength, balance, coordination, agility, climbing, body awareness and obstacle problem-solving.
Kids also get repeated opportunities to attempt something difficult, adjust their approach and try again — an important part of learning how to handle challenge and make progress.
Is ninja a good activity for kids who do not love traditional team sports?
It can be a great fit.
Ninja lets kids work toward individual physical goals while still training alongside a group. They do not need to score goals, earn playing time or perform exactly like everyone else around them.
For many children, that combination of independence, movement and visible personal progress makes ninja feel very different from a traditional team sport.
When are kids ninja classes offered?
Octo Ninja offers youth ninja classes throughout the week, with class times varying by age, program and current enrollment availability.
Because the schedule can change as classes fill or new groups are added, the online class schedule is the best place to see current days and times.
What happens if my child misses a monthly ninja class?
Enrolled athletes may currently report an absence and use an eligible make-up opportunity in another available class.
Make-up classes are subject to space and current Octo Ninja policies. Make-up credits have no cash value, cannot be used instead of regular tuition and are non-transferable.
What should my child wear to ninja class?
Kids should wear comfortable athletic clothing that allows them to climb, swing, squat and move freely.
Clean athletic shoes with good traction are recommended for the obstacle floor. Avoid sandals, flip-flops, Crocs and other loose or slippery footwear.
Bringing a refillable water bottle is also a good idea.
Where are Octo Ninja youth classes located?
Octo Ninja classes take place at our 15,000-square-foot indoor obstacle gym at 6500 N Lamar Blvd, Suite A, Austin, TX 78752.
We welcome families from across Austin and surrounding communities including Pflugerville, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Leander and Georgetown.
